WHAT IS A "SIGNATURE PAINTING"?
It's an original, handpainted work of art that:
Visualizes who you are
Is a record of your event
Includes space for guests' signatures and sentiments
Becomes an heirloom, framed and hung in a place of honor in your home.

WHAT KIND OF SIGNATURE PAINTINGS DO YOU OFFER?
Two types are available:
1. 100% custom - A completely original, hand painted commission on illustration board. Please see examples in the gallery. Size can vary.
2. Semi-custom – A lower cost option. You choose from the selection of theme templates, and I hand-paint the text for your occasion. Please see the gallery. New templates are being designed all the time. Size: 20” x 26”.

WHAT EVENTS SHOULD THEY BE USED FOR?
Any occasion of importance where friends and family gather. Weddings, anniversaries, civil unions, renewal of vows, Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, retirement, births, birthdays, graduations, showers, christenings, a Brit Miliahs, any occassion.

Yes. All materials are achival and eco-friendly.

HOW MUCH INPUT DO WE HAVE IN THE DESIGN OF OUR PAINTING?
It’s a collaboration. What expresses you? What is meaningful to you? - a location, quote, family crest, favorite memory, hobby, flowers - anything. What color scheme would you like? General style of lettering? You will feel as though we designed it together – you provide the inspiration, and I will provide the artistry and expertise.

RETURN POLICY
Due to the custom nature of the work, returns are not possible. If a mistake is made, of course it will corrected at no cost.

CAN A COPY OF THE SIGNED PAINTING BE ORDERED AFTER THE EVENT?
Yes. A specialty printing firm will make a perfect duplicate on canvas or paper, in any size, and send it back to you. Ask about pricing.

IS FRAMING AVAILABLE?
Yes. Mail the signed painting back in the original box, and framing will be handled per your instructions. Framing is quoted separately. It is more economical for you to have it done by your local frame shop.

HOW MUCH TIME DO WE NEED TO ORDER ONE?
Ideally, it is best to leave 6-8 weeks from the order date to completion. Rush orders will be accommodated whenever possible, but there could be an additional charge.

Signature Paintings range from $250-$650, depending on level of
customization and size.

WHAT ARE THE PAYMENT OPTIONS?
After the initial discussion and agreement, you will be asked to send a non-refundable deposit in the form of a check. Once it clears, the design process begins.

DO WE APPROVE A SAMPLE FIRST?
Of course. After payment is received, a color study will be drawn. An image of it will be e-mailed to you for approval.
We discuss any changes at that time. The original is not started until you are happy with the color study.

WHAT IS A ‘COLOR STUDY’?
For a custom signature painting, it is a full-color original sketch of the overall design. I e-mail a digital image of it to you and we discuss the details, changes, etc., by phone. For the semi-custom signature painting, I insert your text information using the style of typeface decided upon, and e-mail that image to you.

The following information is required to include in your Signature Painting:
- Full names of participant(s), in any language
- Date of ceremony
- Location of ceremony
- Town/city of ceremony
- Estimated number of guests

Information can be e-mailed or sent by mail. All text and names must be clear and legible. Please proof your spelling carefully.

WHAT COMES WITH A SIGNATURE PAINTING?
The painting is shipped in a sturdy flat box, along with two special pens for signing, a heavy poster board to put on the table under the painting, and a sheet of tissue paper for people to rest their hand on. It should lay flat on the table. Signing should be closely monitored by an event staff person or reliable relative. back to top
HOW SHOULD IT BE DISPLAYED AT THE EVENT?
A separate table for signing should be set up away from high traffic. The painting should lay flat on the board provided for signing, and only the pens provided should be used. Signing should be closely monitored by an event staff person or reliable relative at all times. If it is an outdoor event and the weather is damp, it should not be left outside for long periods of time. A few hours is fine. In any circumstance, you should take care to protect it from the elements. Afterward, place it carefully back in the box it was shipped in for safe keeping.

HOW WILL MY ORDER BE SHIPPED?
The standard means of delivery is via the US Postal Service. Orders will be shipped well in advance of the event. A signature is required for all deliveries to safeguard that the signature painting gets directly to you. No P.O. boxes, please. These are large parcels.
